Closures For Training
We are closed for staff training on the following Tuesday afternoons from 1.00 pm:
21st May 2019
18th June 2019
If you need regular (repeat) medication you will be given a repeat prescription slip. You can request your repeat medication by dropping your slip in at the surgery, ringing our answerphone with the details, or online via the facility below.
If you are on repeat medication we review your records annually to assess what appointments you may need for us to safely continue your medication. You will then be contacted to arrange these tests or appointments, including letting you know which members of staff you need to see and how long the appointment needs to be. If you don’t need any tests or appointments (for example because you are being followed up in hospital appointments) we will therefore not contact you to come into the surgery and you need take no further action. If you do not respond to our requests to arrange tests or appointments we may have to limit the amount of medication we issue, or in rare cases stop the medication (for medication which may be unsafe if not monitored).

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
From 1 April 2018, the charges are:
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC. The charge for a single prescription item is £9.00, whereas a three month PPC will cost you £29.10 and a 12 month PPC £104.00.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website
Please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery.
